Glee

I was very surprised with how good Glee was tonight. It was subtily<br />funny, very touching, and the classic show down; the under dogs face<br />off against some pretty high odds. I am really looking forward to<br />catching this show. Anyone else have a chance to see it? Fox is<br />advertising if you missed it you can catch it on Fox.com all summer<br />long and the series will start in the fall. Sound off in the<br />comments with what you thought.--

[Updated] NutshellMail Adds MySpace Status Updats via Email

<div class='p_embed p_image_embed'>

Media_httpnutshellmai_dvurj

NutshellMail, the site that "transforms your primary email account into a universal inbox so you can retrieve messages and manage all your accounts in one place," has added the ability to post status updates to MySpace via email according to their newsletter sent out today. Nutshell is interesting as it centralizes all of your social sites to your inbox. It currently supports Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Gmail, Yahoo, and many others. The service is free and seems to be expanding it's services pretty frequently.

I would love to see some further integration with Twitter status updates (like Topify) and Facebook but [A]ll in all it's a pretty solid way to archive and maintain your online presence.

Ubuntu 9.04 "Jaunty Jackalope" Released

<div style="overflow:auto;font-family:sans-serif;margin:0 10px;"> <div style="margin-bottom:.5em;">Here is the scoop via <a href="http://lifehacker.com/" class="f" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Lifehacker</a>.<p /><br />
by Kevin Purdy on 4/23/09
Media_httpcachegawker_elnjo
The Jaunty Jackalope is on the loose, bringing a Linux desktop with streamlined notifications, a speedier file system, and other upgrades to the free desktop. Grab a live CD and try it out for yourself.

As happens every six months or so, the official Ubuntu servers are swamped with upgraders and downloaders this morning, so you'd be quite the polite person if you upgraded from a mirror server or grabbed any of the Ubuntu 9.04 ISO images from an official BitTorrent stream. Thinking about adding Ubuntu to your boot options, but don't want to mess up XP and/or Vista? Check out Adam's guide to triple-booting all three of those. You can get even more risk-free by running Ubuntu 9.04 in a virtual machine.

Ubuntu is, as always, completely free, runs on most any x86-based system.

You Tube Shows vs. Hulu, the coming battle fronts

Some simple thoughts, rough draft ideas about Google's recent You Tube <a href="http://www.youtube.com/shows">shows</a>. I, for one, am very excited for this service! I see a plethora of opportunities here. You Tube's reach is greater than anyone else currently in this market. If they can expand the content and get a digital library up that bests <a href="http://www.hulu.com/">Hulu</a>, there is a very solid chance this could be the next big thing. You Tube has permeated to so many different platforms the possibilities are endless. You can stream content to computers, TV's, phones and more! In all of these devices, Google has the lead. The infrastructure is there, Google just needs to leverage it. I have an iPhone app for You Tube. Hulu (<a href="http://venturebeat.com/2009/04/17/rumor-hulus-iphone-app-looks-sharp-due-soon/">rumors</a> not withstanding) does not have one available. And thus far the only video app out there on the iPhone that is decent is the You Tube app. <a href="http://www.joost.com/"> Joost </a>has an iPhone offering that is confusing and not well rounded. It also lacks the content that you can find on Hulu. Again, You Tube has the advantage on all kinds of other devices and to not leverage them would be a serious stumble.<p />Either way I look forward to being able to watch my TV and movies where and when I want without the nuisance of sitting at home. Any thoughts? Add your input in the comments.<p /><br />--<p />Brian<br /><a href="http://bmbufalo.blogspot.com/">http://bmbufalo.blogspot.com</a><br /><a href="http://bmbufalo.mofuse.mobi/">bmbufalo mobile</a><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img class="posterous_download_image" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/2675399127377711436-1104863414778364256?l=bmbufalo.blogspot.com" height="1" alt="" width="1" /></div>

Even more Twitter Gadget fun in the Firefox sidebar

I really loved Steve's <a href="http://www.micropersuasion.com/2009/04/bring-twitter-right-into-gmail-with-the-amazing-twittergadget.html">article</a> about some of the features of Twitter Gadget. There were several features I was aware of and a few that were new! Something I did not see that I love to do with my work flow is create a Twitter Gadget sidebar so I have quick access to it as well as several sights for quick access.<p /><br /><div class='p_embed p_image_embed'>

Media_http1bpblogspot_kvtib

The setup is easy, simply create a bookmark in Firefox of Twitter Gadget by using this link: http://twittergadget.com/gadget.asp. For quick access, place this bookmark in your Bookmark Toolbar. Then right click on your new bookmark and choose Properties. In the Properties windows there is an option to "Load this bookmark in the sidebar." Check it and hit OK and you are done! Each time you want to open Twitter Gadget click this bookmark and it will pop up in the sidebar.

Media_http1bpblogspot_anjgh

I find this is better that most of the desktop clients. Twitter is only there when I want it to be and I don't get all kinds of pop up alerts that annoy me and are a little awkward to explain to a curious boss! I also find this useful for several other uses such as Remember the Milk in the sidebar, Friendfeed and Friendfeed Live, Facebook and FB IM, Google Talk, and even Gmail! The set up is similar for each of these, all you have to do is search out the iPhone or mobile URL and the rest is the same. A quick Google search is usually enough to track down the right link. Happy Tweeting!

Jabberwocky

JABBERWOCKY

Lewis Carroll

(from Through the Looking-Glass and What Alice Found There, 1872) `Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

Media_httpwwwjabberwo_ficbc

"Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
The frumious Bandersnatch!"

He took his vorpal sword in hand:
Long time the manxome foe he sought --
So rested he by the Tumtum tree,
And stood awhile in thought.

And, as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,
And burbled as it came!

One, two! One, two! And through and through
The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
He went galumphing back.

"And, has thou slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!'
He chortled in his joy.

`Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.
